Our weather just SUCKS!

Hello to all our furry and not-so-furry friends! It's me, Poppy! Lately, our weather just sucks! It's either pouring down rain or freezing cold. Sometimes both at the same time! Yeah, I guess it could be worse! We went over to visit Scruffy, Lacie and BabyStan's bloggy and boy have they got it ruff! They have so much snow that only Stan can be seen running through it! They may have to wait until Spring to find Scruffy and Lacie!

We have soooo much mud on our deck and kitchen floor, that our mom has just about given up trying to keep it all clean! She says she's going to paint the deck in a color to match red Georgia clay! Great idea, Mom, we'll help you paint!

Our mom has been so busy that we had to use recycled pictures! She's still got the booth in the antique mall and she's selling Dad's tools on Ebay. In the mean time, she's torturing us with baths and she says it won't be long before we have to have Aire-cuts and toenail trimmings! Okay, so maybe our weather doesn't suck so bad after all! As long as it's cold, we get to escape the haircuts!

Well, everybuddy, gotta go. There are stuffies that are begging to be shredded!

Aire-hugs,
Poppy (and Penny & Patches too)

Two of us are clean!

Hi every buddy! It's me, Poppy! Yesterday, I got the dreaded b-a-t-h! Yeah, I was pretty stinky...at least according to my mom! Now I smell really good, but I have heard a rumor that I am going to be Furminated later today! The indignities just keep piling up!

This morning, Penny had her turn in the bathtub! So, now two out of three of us are clean and smell good. The blond one (aka Patches) will get her turn tomorrow! Heeheehee! This morning, Mom told Penny and Patches that they needed to put their heads together and decide who would get their bath today. Since no one volunteered, Mom grabbed Penny and off they went...into the bathroom!

So, Mom is 2/3 of the way done with our baths, but we still need to have our toenails cut. We won't be going back to that one place since they only cut the tips, but our mom is thinking about taking us to the v-e-t! They do a good job, but it's kind of 'spensive!

We can't begin to tell you all how bad we feel for Deetz's family. His brother Sharkie left suddenly, yesterday, for the Rainbow Bridge. It was a horrible accident and we know it will take them a loooooong time to grieve. You can visit Deetzy at http://www.deetztheairdale.blogspot.com to see what happened. Our mom gets sick to her stomach every time she thinks about it! (Sorry, stoopid blogger won't let us insert a link). It also won't let us see the pictures we posted!

Well, every buddy, I'm on my way to be Furminated and I think Patches is hiding somewhere.

Pupdate: Sat. Jan. 30, 2010: It's me, Patches! I got my dreaded b-a-t-h this morning, so I have joined the ranks of 3 clean Aire-girls! Woohoo! Our mom is really glad we're all clean (for NOW), but her back may never be the same again! It's a good thing she took 3 whole days to give us our baths! She could never have done all 3 of us in one day. Oh, and it only took Mom half as long to catch me as it usually does. I must be slowing down! I was also very good once the door shut behind me in the bathroom. I even jumped in and out of the tub all by myself! Amazing!

Just a really, really, really short post!

Hi every buddy! It's me, Patches! Yeah, I know...it's been waaaaaay too long since we posted last time. You can blame that on our mom! We don't have much news, right now, except our snow is all gone and now it's RAINING! Oh, and it's warmed up a lot too. Our peeps are very happy about that.

Our mom's leggie is all better now, but she won't let Poppy get near her when she opens up the front door! Poppy had a couple days of feeling yucky, but we think it was from the ant-eye-bye-ot-icks that she was on. Anyway, she's all better now. Penny and I are fine too.

Our dad is still declining, but at least it's slow. Mom spends most of her time either dealing with hospice peoples or taking care of Dad. Oh, yeah...she still takes care of US too! We have been good girls, lately, and let them sleep until at least 5 a.m. Yeah, that's early, but it's better than 3 or 4 a.m.!

Well, every buddy, that's about it for today. I have to go watch my mom make lunch for Dad. You never know, she might drop something tasty that I have to pounce on!

Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches

We've got snow and we almost got eaten!

Hi everybuddy! It's me, Patches! In this picture of me, I'm giving my mom the evil eye 'cause she made us come in from having fun in the snow. We located some sort of critter that must have escaped to the other side of the fence when it saw our jaws of death coming after it. Mom just let us have at it until we started digging. We would have had that critter if she hadn't made us come in. Of course, there probably would have been a huge hole under the fence too!
We got about 2 inches of snow last night! Yeah, I know...that's nothing compared to what some of you have, but it's a big deal here, in Georgia! This is me and Poppy taking our Aire-butts down the slippery steps. Poppy went first and I was so close behind her that we look like one loooong Aire-pup!

Here's Poppy (on the left) and Penny (on the right) searching out the pawfect spot to piddle.

Oops! Poppy found her pawfect spot just as the delay thingy ended on the flashy beast! Sorry, Poppy, no privacy for YOU!

Penny doesn't mind having her picture taken when she's outside! Maybe it's because the stoopid camera doesn't flash! Anyway, it is only 14 degrees right now, so we were having lots of fun, but Mom was freezing her tushie off while taking our pictures! Hahahaha! She's NOT wearing a fur coat! In fact, she wasn't wearing any coat at all!
Now, I have to tell you about our great adventure in almost being eaten! Two days ago, our mom spotted a ginormous hawk in a tree in our back yard! She watched him for a long time before she decided to let us go out. She knew that we are too big for him to be able to swoop down and carry one of us off! She kept telling us, though, that he was watching "black and tan lunch on the paw"! Actually, he stayed right there in the tree the whole time we were outside. He stayed there about 2 hours and our mom kept checking on him every time she went near the windows. He finally ate something and then flew away. Too bad...we would have liked to have had a shot at playing with him!
Yesterday was our mom's birthday and for most of the day, we were really good girls, but late in the afternoon, when our mailman came, Poppy got in huge trouble! The mailman came up to the front door to pick up a package and Mom stuck her hand out the door so he could put the mail in it. Well, Poppy tried to force her snooter out the door and she bent Mom's leg in the wrong direction! Mom heard a popping sound and then she could hardly walk for the rest of the day! She sat with a heating pad on her knee for the rest of the evening and she says it feels a little better today. At least she's only limping once in a while!
Well, that's all our news for today! Mom and Aunt Wendy are going out to play in the snow...I mean they're going to run errands and go out to lunch for Mom's birthday!

Patches (and Poppy and Penny too)

Today is our second blogaversary!

Hello to all our furry and not-so-furry friends! It's me, Patches! Our personal secretary (aka Mom) just realized that it was two years ago today that we started our bloggy! Obviously, we don't do a whole lot of posting since this is only our 183rd post. We try, but our mom is just way too busy to post every time we bark stuffs to her!
Since Poppy got her ant-eye-bye-ot-icks, she hasn't picked any fights with me or Penny. Of course, our mom is watching her very closely and if she gets that "look" in her eye, she separates us really quick! We think the "look" just means she wants to play, but Mom isn't taking any chances.

This picture is from back when I had my aeordynamic fur-cut. I'm not quite that aerodynamic now, but I'm still pretty quick! My hairs haven't grown all the way out yet, so I'm not spending much time outside today. It's only 23 degrees F this morning and our mom has to go to the grocer store. Heeheehee! Better HER than US! It's a good thing she's got that remote start thingy on our Aire-mobile. At least she can warm it up before she has to go out and freeze her tushie on those leather seats that the car dealer told her wouldn't be too hot or too cold. He LIED big time!
For those of you who have asked, our dad is stable right now. He is declining, but at least it is slowly. We see a change in him about every six or seven days. When he gets out of breath, it takes him longer to recover than it used to. He is still trying to help our mom with stuffs like setting the table and letting us doggies in and out. The nurse told him to quit that, but he just can't get that through his head. He's stubborn...just like us doggies! Speaking of us doggies, we let our peeps sleep until 6:20 this morning. They can't figure out why we did that and Mom checked the house for poopies and piddles, but she didn't find any! Of course not, Mom, WE know that we only do that outside!
Well, everybuddy, our mom has to quit typing now because she has to go freeze her tushie off. When she comes home, she's going to turn into a plumber again and replace the flapper in one of our toilets. Good luck with that, Mom!
Happy New Year, everybuddy!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy and Penny too)

Christmas Aire-fight and Happy New Year to all!

Hello and Happy New Year to all our bloggy buddies...furry and not-so-furry! It's me, Patches! Yep, once again, I have a lot to say! We 3 P's are hoooooge trouble with our mom! On Christmas Eve day, Poppy proceeded to half-way unwrap one of our toys that was under the Christmas tree. Mom heard something rustling and went to investigate. She wrestled the package away from Poppy and put it back. Then she had the nerve to put a gate up in front of the tree, so we couldn't get to the packages! The NERVE of that woman!
Well, on Christmas morning, she took the gate away and passed out presents for us to open. We were having a blast until somedoggies decided that they both wanted the same present. Okay, it wasn't "somedoggies", it was me and Poppy! We ended up in one hoooooge Aire-fight! Penny joined in and all 3 of us were flashing our gnashers at each other and landing several good bites! Mom was screaming at us and we finally stopped the madness! Somedoggie bled all over the living room floor and Mom still doesn't know which one of us did it. She checked each one of us and couldn't find out who was bleeding. The one who came out on the worst end of the fight, was the fox stuffie in the picture above. He spilled his guts and his voice box all over the place!

This morning, I walked past Poppy and for no apparent reason, she attacked me! She was biting my neck and we were growling like crazy. Then Penny joined in and they were both attacking me! I didn't do ANYTHING except walk by Poppy and look at her! Mom saw the whole thing and she told Poppy that there was absolutely no reason for the attack! Mom was screaming at us again and she hit Poppy with a paint paddle, but Poppy still wouldn't leave me alone. Mom grabbed a book and hit Poppy with it several times, but she still came right back after me. Mom ended up with a cut finger and her heart racing about a million miles per hour! She finally got me away from Poppy and put me in the kitchen with the gate closed so Poppy and Penny were in the living room. She checked me all over and couldn't find any blood, but she still wouldn't let us get together for quite a while. Our mom is really upset by Poppy's behavior lately! She can't figure out what's causing it and it is really upsetting our dad!
We would like to thank all of you who sent us Christmas cards even though we didn't sign up for the DWB card exchange this year. We hope everyone has a really great 2010! WE are just happy that our dad is still with us!
PUPDATE: Wed. Dec. 30: Hi, everybuddy! It's me, Poppy. I just got home from the v-e-t and yes, he put that nasty thermometer up my butt! My pawrents suspected I had some sort of problem, even though I seemed to be fine. I have two infected toofers and a lip fold pyoderma that is also infected. My vet says that's probably where all the blood came from after our Christmas morning fight. Anyhoo, I have ant-eye-bye-oticks to take for 2 weeks and I also got some meds for my arfritis! If this doesn't stop the fighting, Dr. Hardee wants to put me on a doggie tranquilizer! He says it might be because of all the changes in our household that have happened lately. We doggies are having a hard time adjusting to the fact that we just don't come FIRST around here anymore!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Penny and Poppy too)

Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, everybuddy! It's me, Patches. Yeah, I know that's Poppy in the picture! My personal secretary (aka Mom) wasn't entirely "with the program" when she loaded the pictures for this post!
She's sleep deprived! Mostly, thanks to ME! I've been waking her up everymorning around 4:00. She tried tricking me by going to bed an hour early, thinking she could get an extra hour of sleep that way. Nope! Then I wake her up at 3:00! Heeheehee! She can't fool ME! Hey, I KNOW how many hours there are supposed to be between my trips outside and my feeding times. What I can't figure out is why Mom gets so upset with us when we go back to sleep as soon as we eat our breakfast! She keeps saying, "Nodoggie better be sleeping!"

Okay, FINALLY, there's a picture of me! My furs are starting to grow back from when my mom and Aunt Wendy sheered me like a sheepie! I am getting beautimous again!
We just want to tell everybuddy to have a very Merry Christmas...or Happy Hannukah...or whatever you all celebrate! We hope you all have a safe and fun howliday!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Penny & Poppy too)
