We had a visitor!

Hello everydog, kitty, hammie and hooman! It's me, Patches! We had a surprise visitor, early this morning. It was a Hoot Owl! Isn't he pretty? We really didn't get to see him since it was dark outside, but we think this is what he looks like. The first time we went outside, this morning, Mom kept hearing this really weird noise. At first, she thought it was a dog, but the noise was exactly the same every time and it didn't sound like anydog she had ever heard before. Finally, she came in and got Dad to come out and listen to it. Being the old farm boy that he is, he recognized it right away as a Hoot Owl. Mom thought it was really strange that none of us barked at it. We all took off in the direction of the hooting, but nodog barked.
Yesterday, our mom took a box into the computer room and it had a plastic bag in it. She put it on the floor under some shelves and went back to the kitchen. The next time she came to this end of the house, this is what she saw. The plastic bag was shredded all over the bedroom floor and the big bed. Somedog had been having a ripping good time! Since any of the three of us could have done it, I figured I was safe because I didn't have any evidence hanging out of my mouth.

Well, I was wrong! Somehow, Mom knew that I was the guilty party. I still can't figure out how she knows! I tried to tell her that the pink teddy bear did it, but she wasn't buying that! Maybe Poppy and Penny told on me when I wasn't looking. That Penny is a real snitch...she tattles on me and Poppy all the time! Mom keeps telling her she's not the "enforcer", but she does it anyway.

Poppy was told, yesterday, that she isn't too far from needing another Aire-cut. She figures she has a little time to think about it since Mom and Dad are still spending so much time trying to figure out the new 'puter. For a few years, we used the Windows XP operating system and now, we have found out that you can't buy a new 'puter with that system anymore. Our pawrents went to look at MacIntosh computers, but after suffering sticker shock, they went back to a regular old PC. Now we have the Vista operating system and it is way different from XP. Mom says the people at Microsoft are just stoopid! Either that, or they are way smarter than she is. They have made everything much more complicated than it used to be and she is not amused! She keeps saying something like "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". We know that isn't true for doggies, but I guess it must be true for some hoomans!

We each got a new stuffie, yesterday, but mine was taken away from me already. Mine is a reindeer with a big nose and it seems that I am obsessed with trying to rip his nose off. When I almost had it off, Mom took him away. Now, he's on top of the "coolerator", in the kitchen and there's no way I can reach him. I guess I will have to attack Poppy's c-a-t or Penny's dinosaur when they aren't looking. I gave Mom the play bow, but she still won't give me back my reindeer. What a buzz-kill!

I finally decided to just lay down and watch my mom freaking out at the 'puter. It's pretty entertaining, but she keeps saying HBO words all the time. After she says a few of those words, she goes and gets Dad, aka Techno Boy, to fix the problem. Some of them, he can fix, but sometimes he says "that's how Vista is". That causes Mom to say even more HBO words.
Well, everybuddy, I'm going to stare at the 'frigerator and see if I can send a mind-meld message for my reindeer to fall off into my jaws of death.
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

As far as hair cuts go, I highly recommend having a mohawk shaved in like Big Pupi's. He gets so much attention and head scritches from folks that just can't resist a good 'hawk!

That owl looks tasty! I like to chase birds and try to eat them.

I'm sorry about your stuffy. I had a stuffy reindeer with a nose and mom just cut it off and sewed the hole closed. Otherwise I would have feasted on that schnozzle too!

Now bout that Vista stuff. Mom's poor ole laptop is on it's last leg and does the wierdest thigs sometimes. BUT it is XP. that vista stuff scares the crap out of her cause she has a hard enough time as it is!! We also heard about that sticker shock syndrome. whoo. Alotta bones,hu?
Hugs,
Sunny,Scooter&Jamie(techno challengd enough as it is!)

What a gorgeous owl! Could you tell him to visit us so we can meet him in person?!
Mom says her puter better not die till the day before she dies because she has no interest in setting up another puter - Vista or Mac!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

I think you should be able to use your aire-zen to levitate the reindeer off the fridge and into your waiting jaws.

I'm way over-due for another aire-cut, but Mommy has been too busy (so yay for me :-).

That owl sure does sound like a cool visitor!

Sorry about the 'puter, Mommy hates Vista, but she's stuck with it now.

Mom really wants to switch to Mac too, but you are right, they are expensive!!! Good luck with Vista!

I wish I we had a cute owl like that! I know what you mean about ripping up stuffies. I just ripped the ear off my rabbit and it has been taken away for cosmetic surgery.

Wow, a hoot owl, I would have liked to get my jaws on him! He he! Since you didn't get to chomp on the owl, I can see why you are trying to eat the nose off your reindeer.

When Mom and Dad got their new pooter it had vista too, which Mom was not used to, but it's been a couple of months and she is better now. So, it should get better for your Mom. Just don't let her break the pooter, it's necessary for blogging you know.

Your pal,
Kirby

G'day Patches

Tell Mum to hang in there with Vista. It's ok once you get used to it! There is an owl that hangs around my place sometimes. I'll see if we can snap a photo of it to show you ..

Cheers

Our Mom says HBO words when she thinks about how Microsoft has traded something that works -- XP Professional-- for something that everyone she knows says is so complicated and unadapted to many professional uses. She did learn however, that you can "downgrade" a new computer to run XP. Is that an option for you???

We pray our puter doesn't get sick!!! Let us know how things go!!!

Wirey woofs, pals,

Oh Patches, maybe the reindeer might be down again near Christmas but thats far too long to wait. You need another stuffie for sure.

Hope your Mom figures out the new pooter so she can post those cute pictures of you all.

Mom hates Vista too. She works on XP all day and then tries to work on the home computer and has to stop and figure things out again. Mom wasn't very happy that they couldn't get a new computer with XP on it, too.
We heard from the neighbors that there's 5 owls in our neighborhood! We haven't seen any yet or heard any weird noises from one so we don't know for sure.
Hope you get your reindeer back soon!!

Hiya P, P and P !!!
Your visitor looked a hoot! hee hee. A beautiful bird.

Windows vista......well our hooman had to get to grips with it a while back, but after lots of practice she was capable of actually finding the switch to turn it on and after lots of coaching from us she now does moderately well.

Hope you Mum gets to grips with it real soon.

Good luck willing the reindeer of the cooling device.

My mom has been using Vista for awhile now and has gotten used to it. Leah has a Macintosh but my mom can't afford one for herself. Sticker Shock is the right phrase! My mom has a $500 laptop...

Hiya Patches,

I'm always getting into major trouble when things get chewed up in the house. I hafta admit, tho, that I am usually the one using my teeth on stuff where I should not. But, watch out for quieter, older, sneaky bros! I get blamed for stuff that he does cuz he has a more innocent face - NOT FAIR!!

Hi....let me tell ya.... my hooman mommy bought one of those "mini" apples and she loves it! It wasn't too expensive I guess because all of us dawgs are still eating everyday!!! My mommy was spewin' HBO words with her PC due to all of the viruses... She said her puter was always sick.... We worked hard to learn the apple... though I never did see any food. Now we love it... anyway, that's what she says.... I still haven't seen any eatable apples lying around....
Good luck with getting your stuffie back!

What a great picture of the owl. We have never seen one. Mama has heard horror stories about Vista. We still have Windows XP. Mama thinks Microsoft likes to make things more difficult than they need to be.
