Hi everydoggie, kitty, hammie, bear and hooman! It's me, Poppy! Today is our first blogaversary! It was one year ago today, that Aunt Wendy came over and helped our personal secretary (aka Mom) start our very own blog! Some of you have said that it seems like we have been blogging more than a year. Well, our mom read blogs to us looooooong before we started our own. She made comments on everydoggie else's blog so some of you have actually know us for much more than a year!.JPG)
I had to go to the v-e-t this morning! I don't mind GOING...it's once we GET there that I object to. The very first thing they did was stick that awful thermometer in my fuzzbutt. How humiliating! For a few days, now, I have had a bump on my fuzzbutt that was oozing blood mixed with clear liquid. Mom has been putting hot compresses on it and Neosporin, but this morning, it seemed to be even more swollen..JPG)
Off we went to see Dr. Hardee. I LOVE Dr. Hardee! He's always sooooo nice to me! Unfortunately, this time, all he wanted to look at was my fuzzbutt. It seems that I have an infection in one of my anal glands. He expressed both glands and I was a really good girl while he worked on me..JPG)
Now I have to take antibiotics twice a day for 14 days and then I have to go back to be re-checked. He felt a thickening by one of my anal glands and he wants to make sure it isn't something more serious...like a tumor! The whole thing isn't bothering me, one bit, but my mom was kind of freaking out! I told her to chill out...I'm still eating, doing zoomies and playing bitey-face. I told her that if I quit doing any of those things, THEN she can freak out!Well, everybuddy, it's time for my afternoon nap. See you all next time! Happy New Y-aire!

Patches ~ I totally understand about the toenails. I didn't learn how to be a good boy when getting my nails cut as a wee pup, so now that I'm with my girl, they practically have to sedate me to get it done. And let me tell you, I've got some claws going!
Poppy Girl! Bummer about the fuzzbutt owie! At least you now know more of what's going on & can get rid of that infection. We're sending you a load of goob smooches to help you heal up and to make sure that whatever else is going on back there is nothing serious!

No worries on your "problem with your fuzzbutt", I have suffered a similar thing with the old Anal Glands, and the antibiotics cleared it up totally.

I learned this weekend that Moms freak out no matter what you say to them. I think it's number one on their list of duties: #1 Freak out about any sign of pain or sickness your furkid has. #2 Not give enough treats or snacks.

Big Pupi freaks out any time someone tried to look at his fuzzy bum. He won't even let mom shave his tail down without screaming and after a while it looks like a pony tail! Perhaps you can teach him some of your fuzzbutt manners?

Mumsie was laughin' today...we got snow and ice last night...by the third time in and out this morning it looked like it had rained in our house...NO MUD...just buckets of water where our three fuzzy bodies melted iceballs all over it!!!
Oh well...she said she's given up on our floor by the time we added Stan to the pack!
