We've got snow and we almost got eaten!

Hi everybuddy! It's me, Patches! In this picture of me, I'm giving my mom the evil eye 'cause she made us come in from having fun in the snow. We located some sort of critter that must have escaped to the other side of the fence when it saw our jaws of death coming after it. Mom just let us have at it until we started digging. We would have had that critter if she hadn't made us come in. Of course, there probably would have been a huge hole under the fence too!
We got about 2 inches of snow last night! Yeah, I know...that's nothing compared to what some of you have, but it's a big deal here, in Georgia! This is me and Poppy taking our Aire-butts down the slippery steps. Poppy went first and I was so close behind her that we look like one loooong Aire-pup!

Here's Poppy (on the left) and Penny (on the right) searching out the pawfect spot to piddle.

Oops! Poppy found her pawfect spot just as the delay thingy ended on the flashy beast! Sorry, Poppy, no privacy for YOU!

Penny doesn't mind having her picture taken when she's outside! Maybe it's because the stoopid camera doesn't flash! Anyway, it is only 14 degrees right now, so we were having lots of fun, but Mom was freezing her tushie off while taking our pictures! Hahahaha! She's NOT wearing a fur coat! In fact, she wasn't wearing any coat at all!
Now, I have to tell you about our great adventure in almost being eaten! Two days ago, our mom spotted a ginormous hawk in a tree in our back yard! She watched him for a long time before she decided to let us go out. She knew that we are too big for him to be able to swoop down and carry one of us off! She kept telling us, though, that he was watching "black and tan lunch on the paw"! Actually, he stayed right there in the tree the whole time we were outside. He stayed there about 2 hours and our mom kept checking on him every time she went near the windows. He finally ate something and then flew away. Too bad...we would have liked to have had a shot at playing with him!
Yesterday was our mom's birthday and for most of the day, we were really good girls, but late in the afternoon, when our mailman came, Poppy got in huge trouble! The mailman came up to the front door to pick up a package and Mom stuck her hand out the door so he could put the mail in it. Well, Poppy tried to force her snooter out the door and she bent Mom's leg in the wrong direction! Mom heard a popping sound and then she could hardly walk for the rest of the day! She sat with a heating pad on her knee for the rest of the evening and she says it feels a little better today. At least she's only limping once in a while!
Well, that's all our news for today! Mom and Aunt Wendy are going out to play in the snow...I mean they're going to run errands and go out to lunch for Mom's birthday!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy and Penny too)

Ciao 3Ps!!

Buon Compleanno -- with special birthday smoochies -- to your mama!!

Brrrrr! It looks cold at your casa, miei amici. There is a TON of snow at my casa, but I don't think it's as cold as where you are. When la mia ragazza took me outside early this morning to do my jobs, I didn't even have to lower my tushie to take care of business because the snow was about eleventy billion inches high! Heeeeeeee!!!!

Stay warm, ragazze! Hugs to your mama and papa!

Tanti baci!
Lucia

Happy Belated Birthday to your Mom - I do not think knee ligament damage is an appropriate gift though - I think the humans prefer flowers or jewellery - just a thought for next year. Love the photos of you enjoying your snow - it has been snowing here too - lots! and well, I have loved it - been playing and running around. Not sure we like the idea of birds of prey hanging around the garden - they could carry Paddy off without too much trouble!! Scary!
Lots of licks

We got almost no snow, but 10degrees in temperature sets a record for Mayemphis (since Elvis died, or somethin' like that.)

We would caution you NOT to play rough with a Mom. She feeds you. And if she cannot stand on the two legs she uses, she cannot reach the kibble.

Happy Barkday to her.

kisses

Happy birthday to your mama bear!

We hope she can pop the leg back in the other way so it won't give her anymore grief.

The hawk would defo lost the battle with three blackandtanians, no such luck Mr Hawk and wise choice not to have a go.

The snow looks wonderful and we would love to have a romp around but Inky can't even walk let alone run in the snow at the moment. Maybe next time...

Is that train tracks in your back yard??

Gee whiz! Your mom is not made of rubber, you know, be careful! That hawk had his eye on you for sure. But I agree that you are all too big for him to mess with. Even so, he sounds very bold.

Happy Birthday to your special Mom and we sure hope her leg is better. Mom says she feels her pain.

Glad to see you got snow, a little is always better than none. But it was sad to see all the accidents in Atlanta because of the bad roads. It has been cold and snowy here for over a week now but next week is looking to be a lot warmer. We love the cold and the snow but it has been just a wee bit too cold too long.

Whoa! Lots of events happenin' in Georgia! In our opinion -- the one we want to reply to most of all -- is a belated Birthday wish to your moma! We hope it was a very special day (despite the temperature and sore knee.) And ... a hawk? We saw one hunting rabbits just before we left for the holidays ... and a few minutes later, we saw the poor bunny that became his prey. Not a pretty picture. We're glad you are a bit too big. We prob'ly are, too, but after seeing the blood and guts (sorry, but it's true), we're not taking any chances.

Enjoy what's left of your snow. (Is there any?) We hear you are finally going to get some warmer temperatures.

Love ya lots
