Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate it! And Happy Spring to those of you who don't! We are soooo glad Spring is finally here! Of course, this morning, you wouldn't know it's spring...it's only about 30 degrees, here! It will warm up later, though and Penny and I will play outside. Our fence is finally finished and there are no men in our back yard for us to bark at. Now, we just have to concentrate on the evil squirrels! We have one, right now, that is determined to get the Woodpecker cakes that Mom puts out. He has tried dropping down from a tree branch to get it and sometimes he goes at it from the ground. Even the squirrel baffle isn't stopping him. The squirrel feeder is full and that usually keeps the little evil critters from going after the bird seed and cakes. Well, not this time! You see, Mom mixed some dog food, that we didn't like, in with the sunflower seeds and obviously, the squirrels don't like it either! They are even eating the blossoms off our Saucer Magnolia tree! Mom scares them away when she sees them, but she can't sit in front of the window all day, so they are having quite a feast when she isn't around!
Mom knows that we are getting back to normal, now that Pockets is safely back with Airedale Rescue. She can tell because I, Poppy have started my shopping activities again. Last night, Mom got up from her chair to do something and when she came back, I had taken all her stuff off the end table and distributed it all around the living room floor. Those marshmallow egg wrappers were yummy, but I just licked them...I didn't swallow any! Whenever Mom says, "I've been shopped", it triggers Penny and me to do zoomies. We don't know why...it just does! We had a blast chasing each other around the couch and the coffee table until Penny got in trouble for barking at me. Today, we're planning to t-bone each other, out in the yard, so Mom can only guess which one of us will be limping before the day is over. Right now, we are going to take a nap so we can be all rested up for our play session out in the nice warm sunshine!
