I was a VERY bad Aire-girl!

Hey, everydoggie, kitty, hammie, bear and hooman! It's me, Patches! See these glasses? They almost made me a homeless doggie, this morning!

These are the glasses that our mom wears ALL the time! The last thing she does, at night before putting her head on her pillow, is take off these glasses and she puts them on the night stand right beside her bed! The very first thing she does BEFORE she gets up, is put the glasses on!

Well, we woke our mom up before she was ready, this morning, so she was a little bumfuzzled when she got up! She forgot the glasses and went into the bathroom. Now, you all know that I NEVER miss the opportunity to go in the bathroom with my mom, but for some strange reason, I let her go by herself! By the time she came out, she was more awake and reached for her glasses on the night stand, but they weren't there. The first thing she did was check her face, but they weren't there either and she couldn't see very well at all! You should hear the thoughts that were running through her head and the HBO words that were coming out of her mouth!

Boy, I got some new names, this morning, and none of them were GOOD! I just wanted to know how she knew it was ME! There are TWO Aire-girls in this house! Mom turned on the light in the living room and found her glasses on the floor, right beside my weiner doggie. I think he sneaked into the bedroom and took her glasses so he could "frame" me! Hahahahaha! Get it?..."frame" me? Sometimes I crack myself up! But I digress! Mom found the glasses and put them on, but she couldn't see much better than before she found them. They were covered in Aire-art and slobber! Also, she can't see a thing with the glasses off, so she had to feel around to see if there were any teeth marks. Fortunately, for me, she hasn't found any!

I guess I just narrowly escaped being a homeless doggie! On her way to the living room, Mom was seeing dollar signs and hoping she didn't have to shell out another $800! Yep, she paid a little over $800 for those tacky red glasses. (Patches' mom: I know they were expensive, but I had been in pretty much every store in the Atlanta area and couldn't find any frames that I liked. I accidentally ran into a Versace salesperson in my own eye doctor's office when I went in to tell him I hadn't found the right frames yet. I told her what I was looking for and she went out to her car and brought these in. Sold! So the fact that they are Versace (who cares?), they have Swarovski crystals at the corners (who cares again?) and they are Varilux lenses, make them cost over $800.)

My mom says that if she had to buy them today, she would have to get a much, much cheaper pair...like maybe some from WalMart's pharmacy department that cost around $20 a pair. Well, it all turned out okay since I didn't leave any chomper marks and my mom has finally quit calling me names! I knew she couldn't stay mad at me for very long!

Have a great weekend, everybuddy!

Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Penny who NEVER steals Mom's glasses...or anything else either!)

Hi Penny and Patches,
Have I told you that I had a dog once and her name was Penny?
They would cost a lot more then 20$$. I am wearing a pair of wal-marts glasses that I got some 15 years ago and they were over 200.00dollars. They would be like 400.00$$ now a days!!!! I need glasses real bad and really can't afford any !!

Patches don't play with Moms glasses, OK??
Come on by for a visit. We have a tale to tell you.

Same advice as above Miss Patches! No playing with glasses- they are expensive. I had a puppy once a long time ago that ate my eye-glasses, a few brassieres, and other odds and ends. I wasn't a happy 2-legged. I had to learn the hard way about puppies chew habits! Have a great weekend!

Oh My!! Glad that you didn't ruin your mom's glasses so now instead of being mad, your mom can laugh about the incident!

When Caolin was a puppy he ruined several pair of shoes, a bookcase, and a rocking chair... that little devil of a chewer! Now he doesn't chew but both Brodie and Caolin steal my things all the time!

I am very glad that your mom is keeping her sense of humor because frankly, little wirey friend, that was a close call for you. Those glasses totally ROCK! And your mom deserves her bling so next time just try to keep your jaws of doom focused on other things, OK?

My Muzzer thinks those are cool glasses too! She has a pair of red readers that she wears with her contacts, but likes your Mom's better.

Our hoomans are pretty blind too. Me and Teka are discussing which one of us will make the better guide dog when the time comes. Which we figure is about six months from now!

We are glad you are not in the doggie jail or orphans home

Hi Patches!!! Oooooh my! never mess with the secretaries glasses.... after all, how would she be able to bloggie for you??? My secretary gets all crazy about hers too. They aren't Versace but they Bvalgary with sparkly stones on both sides. One time when I first arrived I got ahold of her older pair of Bvlgary and had fun with them. I for a moment there was going to have to unrescue her. But after a couple of days I decided to keep her. I will NEVER do that again!!! So please Patches NEVER EVER try and help the secretary get her glasses. Between you and me and the lamp post, I know you were really taking them to her in the bathroom, knowing what a great pooch you are, you were doing a great deed, but that darn weiner doggie fell on the floor and couldn't get up. All you were trying to do was hold the glasses from being damaged AND help weiner dog get up!!!!

Your newest admirer!!!

Hugs & smoochies! XOXO

Our mom is blind as a bat without her glasses too and her routine is the same as your moms - last thing that comes off before she climbs into bed and in the morning, the first thing she reaches for!

Oh Patches, this did not feel well!
If I break mummies glasses, she does not see me any more. She thinks, I am away. Then I get nothing more to eat. Glasses are taboo!
Lots of love

I'm with you Patches. Unfortunately for my humans (both of them), I left teeth marks on both mum's and dad's Oakleys on 2 separate occasions. They were not pleased. Fortunately, I still have a home. Phew!

We totally understand blind people. Or at least blind old people. And we're glad that sometimes they "see the light" and decide to not place too much blame on us doggies. AFter all, there may come a day when we need to be sight dogs. And in our house, that may be sooner than we think. With NinaGirl gone, Moma doesn't have anyone to help her find her misplaced glasses. (Maybe she should get a routine like your moma's. Or maybe she should get some pretty red glasses. Not only are the beautiful, they're prob'ly easier to see that the ones Moma has.)

You have to be more selective! Your mom needs those to fix your dinner and drive to the store to buy you treats! You could have ended up being her service dog,and that's just too much work! hehe

I dread the day when I leave my glasses within doggie reach and forget that I did it. So glad they didn't "accidentally" get chewed!

Well that makes me feel a lot better about our cat chewing up my lowly $250 glasses. Superb work Patches! :)

Phew than dog you're not in the naughty corner Patches. I can see the attraction (and I don't even need 'em hehee do you Patches?) of stealing them lovely red glasses. Your Mom has excellent taste, they are smashing.

When I was a pupper I ate Mom's brand new Prada glasses she had just got for reading and worse....her friend left a pair of sunglasses at square dog house. Would you believe it some bloggie chewed 'em up beyond recognition.

Does that make you feel better Patches?

Wiry love Eric xx
