We're just tired!

Hi every buddy! It's me, Patches! We just wanted to catch you up on what's been going on around here. My hot spot is all but gone. Poppy had a couple of days where she wouldn't put all her weight on her back left leggie, but it seems okay now. I think she was just trying to get attention. Oh, yeah, and Penny is...well she's just Penny. She is a little ticked off though because Mom keeps putting the bark collar on her. Ever since our dad was signed up for hospice care, there have been loads of peoples coming in and out of our house and it makes us bark a lot.

A couple of the peoples that will come on a regular basis are afraid of doggies. Can you imagine? So, when those peoples are coming, Mom puts us in the living room and shuts the gate so we can't get to the peoples in the kitchen. Boo! We just want to be petted! One day, Mom turned us loose and we were very good girls, but the person we saw kept wiping his hands and arms with a napkin every time we touched him. Of course, we thought that was funny, so we touched him even MORE! Heeheehee! He's obviously not a "dog person"!
When the peoples come, Poppy and I will, eventually, stop barking, but not Penny! Nooooo! She keeps it up so the peoples can't hear each other. We're pretty sure she will get the collar on again this morning because a nurse is coming at 7 a.m. to steal some of Dad's bloods.
We aren't really sure about what's going on around here, but we do know that Mom feels like she's aged about 20 years in the last week and a half. Maybe it has something to do with us not wanting to go outside. It has been raining almost constantly since Monday and Mom has to practically SHOVE us down the steps to do our "good girl stuffs"! Poppy is the worst! Just when Mom thinks she's going down the steps, she makes a left turn past the grill and darts back into the house. She's a tricky one, but not as tricky as Mom and Dad! Now, our mom takes the "dog stick" with her when she wants us to go out. No, she's never used it on us, but we know that the threat is there!
We just want to let everyone know that we are reading your bloggies when we have a chance, but we don't usually have time to comment.
Thank you, soooooo much to all of you who have left messages and wished us well. It means a WHOLE LOT to all of us. We'll update our bloggy and visit you when we can!
Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches

Oh dear. Those "I don't like dogs" people are just too attractive not to pay attention to. Plus you aren't just dogs, anyway, you are splendid Airedales. How could anybody not want to smoochie you?

Penny seems to feel that she is part nurse, huh? I think she is trying to help, but your mom needs to keep things calm. Sorry Penny.

Glad your hot spot is healing. That is good news.

I know it is hard to understand what is happening, but you gals try to keep order, OK? And give your mom extra smoochies.

I am sending a big sloppy kiss your way.

Slobbers,
Mango

Penny, Poppy, Patches & Lana,

I'm sorry I haven't been around much. My mom took a hiatus from blogging and I haven't visited blogs in ages. I'm sorry to hear that Dad isn't doing well but am happy to know that Hospice is there to help. Hospice really helped my mom's brother out and we all appreciated them so much. My mom and I are thinking about you and hope that you are all ok.

Well, we are not not-dog-people dogs either!
Somedoggie looks very cute in the picture, snout on lap. Mum says she wants to hoover you up...
You girls look after you mommy, she needs you now. And just stop barking when she says so, it's easier in the long run...

Ciao 3Ps!

Your mama sure has her hands full these days, no question about it. That means you have to give her lots of extra-sweet attention because that will help her feel twenty years younger!

La mia ragazza says to tell your mama that she had hospice help with her mama and they were wonderful, no matter what time of day or night she called on them; she hopes your mama has the same experience.

Take care, darling amici, and give your mama and papa extra smoochies!

It's really really really hard for us terriers not to bark our heads off when new people penetrate OUR space. So we understand the problem.

It's hard to understand the "not doggie people" though -- since we terriers are such warm and lovable guys and gals.

We're sending you lots of wirey love to share with your dad and mom!!!

Dear Penny, Poppy and Patches,

We are so glad to hear from you and know that things are going along as well as they are. We don't understand why some people don't like dogs - we just want to be friendly. Java scares so many non-dog people and all he wants is to be friendly.

You be good girls and take good care of your peeps - and help them get a little rest if you can.

XOXO

We are sending lots of Teka Terrier Tenacity your way to share with your mom, and many wirey wishes for her and your dad.

We know how hard it is when strangers come to visit...ask our mom about how much fun SHE has when we have an "open house" for dad's colleagues. Hehehe...she goes bonkers. But..we hope that you will do what you can to make your mom's life a bit easier.

Be good, give kisses and try not to get too muddy

I know it's stressful to have strangers in the house. She just thinks she's doing her job and protecting her family. Maybe she'll get used to the company and not bark so much in a few more days. Getting to meet them personally is a good idea and might help (except for the handsie-wipie ones - give 'em some drool instead).

Love on your Dad lots now, that will make him feel better. Love always helps. :)

Happy Tails,
William Tell

Penny, Poppy and Patches. We've been thinkin' aboutcha every day, hoping you find just as much joy and pleasure as you're dealing with stress and frustration. We know you are helping your people get their minds on the right things.... love of you all as a family. Even the "don't like dogs" people and their ridiculous behaviors are probly giving you things to talk about. Some people just are missing out and don't have a clue about what's truly important in life, like the bond between animal and man. It's their loss.

Keep up your good work, and try to do what you can to make it a little easier for your humines. Even if it means going out in the rain to do your business and get some exercise.

We love you, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Find some joy AT LEAST on an hourly basis. 'kay?
Love,
Jake and Fergi and our people
