What a week!

Hello to all our furry and not-so-furry friends! It's me, Patches! Things were really crazy, around here, last week! Our mom spent most of the week getting ready for the big yard sale at the antique mall where her booth is. She drove us crazy going from the kitchen to the garage about 8 million times a day. Everytime she goes into the garage, we think we should go too, but she had the big garage door up and she didn't want to have to chase down 3 doggies all over the neighborhood. Mom and Aunt Wendy set up the yard sale on Friday morning and they had high hopes for the day. Unfortunately, just about as soon as they had everything set up, the wind started to blow and it turned very cold. They didn't even have very many "lookers" that day. At about 1:30, Mom came home and got some big plastic tarps and took them back there to cover everything up. They have a nice big gated area where they moved all the tables to for overnight. They gave up at about 2 p.m. and came home. Oh, yeah and they only sold $2 worth of stuff that day!
The next day (Saturday), Aunt Wendy and Uncle Bill went early and had the tables all set up when our mom got there. Mom was out yard sale-ing before she went to the antique mall. Fortunately, it was a lot less windy and a lot warmer on Saturday. They stayed until about 2:00 again, but decided they had had enough. They had a lot more "lookers" that day, but our mom still came home with less money than she started with. It seems that some of the other dealers had a lot of stuff she thinks will sell on Ebay. She bought a lot of stuff and even traded some stuffs. All in all...not a very profitable weekend!

I wanted to show you Penny's new Aire-cut, but as you can see, Mom still didn't get all of her in the picture. She was cursing the delay on the flashy box! We still don't have the results of Penny's tests, but we are hoping to get them today or tomorrow. The one bump that Penny had on her neck seems to be gone, but the big one on her back is getting a little bigger. None of them are red anymore, though. We think they must have been so red, the day they found them, just because that was the day she got groomed with the clippers.

I have been using my blind froggie for a pillow so I can get all rested up for a trip to Athens, Georgia. Next week, our mom and Aunt Wendy are going to Athens to meet the lady who is in charge of the Airedale Rescue Group and I get to go with them! I'm soooooo excited! I heard a rumor that Miss Barbara has her 3 Airedales with her! And all 3 of them are BOYZ! Remember when we told you about doing a home visit for some people who want to adopt a new 'dale? Well, we think they are getting TWO! One is a 5 year old mama 'dale and the other is her 10 week old puppy boy. If you would like to see them, go over to Janie's bloggy and you can see pictures. Janie's mom transported them from Mississippi to Birmingham, Alabama and then someone else brought them to Atlanta. We're very glad Janie's mom could do that!

This is Officer Cooper and his police doggie, Bruno! We met them at our K-9 for the Cure doggie walk. Bruno is a Belgian Malinois and even though I've heard that he can be a very nice doggie, he looks pretty scary with his leather muzzle!

Remember when I went with Mom to get my picture taken for the dog walk? Well, this is the picture they put in the paper. The doggie on the left is the one that always tries to bite my face off! That's why I am on the far right with Mom. Right in the middle, is Ezzy Rider and Jagger with Aunt Wendy! Oh yeah, our mom and Aunt Wendy want everydoggie to know that they aren't really that fat! Actually I'm not that fat either...the camera must add a lot of weight!...kind of like being on TV! Our mom has quit bleaching her hair and she thinks she looks about 356,564 years old, now! She's trying very hard not to color it, but every time she sees herself in the mirror, she wonders who that old lady is!
Well, everybuddy, that's about it for today! We're going outside, now, to chase some skwerrels (and maybe some birdies)!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

Busy, busy, busy and Penny's new Aire-cut!

Hi everydoggie, kittie, hammie and hooman! It's me, Penny! I know...I don't post very often because those other 2 doggies are always hogging the 'puter! Yesterday, I went to the spa and got a spiffy new Aire-cut! Now, Patches and I look very much alike except for I wear a blue collar and Patches' is bright red. Sorry there are no pictures of my new Aire-cut...I'm still camera shy and by the time the stoopid delay thingy finally takes the picture, all Mom sees is an empty screen without me in it! I'm still pretty quick for 10 years old! I'm sure our mom will keep trying though. She says I look beautimous! While I was at the spa, I also got my yearly vaccinations and check-up. I passed with flying colors except for I seem to have 3 small tumors on my back. They kind of look like that thingy that Tanner had on his face, but one of mine is quite a bit bigger and I'm no longer a pimply faced teenager! The largest one is about the size of a dime and it is raised up about 1/4 of an inch and it's very red. It seems that with all the Aire-hair I had, no one knew I had these ugly growths! The v-e-t aspirated two of them and sent them off to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine to be checked out. We should have the results by Friday and I sure am hoping it's nothing to worry about. Of course, our mom has been FREAKING out since the v-e-t first called her. They don't itch or hurt and even I didn't know they were there!
Patches is still performing her secret ritual on her frog, but she just got done trying to de-stuff Poppy's white teddy bear. Mr. Bear went into the washing machine, this morning and when he came out of the dryer, Poppy and Patches played tug-of-war with him. It was quite a sight since Poppy grabbed the bear from the back, between Mom's legs and Patches grabbed him from the front, between Mom's legs. Mom was stuck in front of the dryer with one dog behind her and one in front of her...both pulling on Mr. Bear! Somedoggie finally let go, just long enough for Mom to make her escape!

We haven't blogged in over a week because our personal secretary has been VERY busy! The antique mall, where she has her booth, is having a big yard sale this weekend. All the stuff she's taking, is stuff we still have here at home, so it all had to be priced! Our mom just hates it when she goes to a yard sale and there are no prices on stuff. She just gets back into the Aire-mobile and leaves! She has already started loading the back of the Aire-mobile so she has more room in the garage. On Thursday, Mom's BFF, Aunt Wendy will come over and help her price and load up the rest of the stuff. We sure hope it doesn't rain!

Next Tuesday, Poppy goes to the spa to get her spring Aire-cut and her vaccinations. I sure hope she looks as good as Patches and I do! I'm pretty sure she will! Cindy does a pawsome job on all of us! Sorry we had to use re-cycled pictures this time! Our mom has been too lazy ( I mean...to BUSY) to take any new ones. She even mowed the grass, yesterday, for the first time this year! Then, this morning, she weed eated (0r is it weed ATE?) Whatever it is... she used the weed eater for about an hour and now she can hardly move. She says she will be getting into the Advil as soon as she's done typing what I'm barking!
Well, everybuddy, I'm off to have yet another nap! I sure would appreciate it if all of you would cross your paws for me to have good results from the tests that the v-e-t sent away!
Aire-hugs,
Penny (and Poppy and Patches too!)

The K-9 walk was a success!

Hello to all you furries and not so furries! It's me, Patches! Yesterday was our big K-9 Walk for the Cure! Our mom says I get to do the post, today, because I went with her and I was a VERY good girl! Mom and I got there about 1:00 and I sat with Uncle Bill while Mom and Aunt Wendy got stuff ready for the registration. At about 2:00, doggies and their people started coming to get registered and I moved over to sit with Mom because Uncle Bill had to go home and get Ezzy Rider and Jagger.

Mom was seated at a table where people could buy tickets for drawings on some doggie stuff that was donated. My leash was tied to Mom's chair and I got to greet almost everydoggie that came by. We made lots of money for the American Cancer Society and I had a blast! I met lots and lots of other doggies and I was very nice to all of them except that girl doggie that I had my picture taken with a couple of weeks ago. No one knows why, but the two of us just do NOT get along. We tried to bite each other's faces off and all the other doggies scattered. I guess they were afraid of us! Anyhoo, no one got hurt and our people just made sure we stayed away from each other for the rest of the day.
The pictures we had taken won't be in the paper until about a week from now. I guess that paper is only published one time a month, so it won't actually come out until long after the "walk". There were lots of photographers there, yesterday and we don't know when those pictures will be published. Mom took our camera along, but she never got to take any pictures! Mainly because she was sitting in a folding chair that was so low that she could barely see over the table and if she stood up, I might run away with the chair! It's okay, though, lots of other pictures were taken and we hope to get copies of some of them.
We met an actual police doggie! The doggie was wearing a leather muzzle and his handler gave us all a talk about just exactly what the police doggies does for a living! I sure am glad I'm a law abiding doggie because I sure don't want him chasing, biting or barking at me! We had a lot of vendors that came to show off what they sell. There were several booths where they passed out doggie treats. We took all of mine home with us, because I was just too nervous to eat in front of the other doggies. Besides, that way, I can share with Poppy and Penny. All in all, it was a great day! Even though I got pretty hot, I had lots of fun! I even slipped out of my prong collar when we were in the parking lot getting ready to get back into the Aire-mobile! Fortunately, I only ran about 20 feet and my mom crouched down and called to me. I ran right to her and Uncle Bill held me while Mom put my collar and leash back on. Yep, that was my mom's only heart attack for the day!
When we got home, I was so excited that I didn't even eat most of my supper. I did, however, drink about 3 gallons of water! Yes, there was water for me at the park, but I didn't drink any of it. I ate all my breakfast, this morning and now I am trying to get rested up!

It seems Spring has finally arrived, here in Georgia! This is one of our Magnolia trees in full bloom! We have two of them...one is a Japanese Magnolia and the other is a Saucer Magnolia. You will see the other one as you scroll on down. Mom can't remember which tree is which, but it doesn't really matter...they are both very pretty!

The evil skwerrels like to eat the blossoms from this one! If their skwerrel feeder is empty, they attack the green bird feeder first, but since it is skwerrel proof (ha ha), they start eating the Magnolia blossoms! It's a good thing our mom tries to keep their feeder full!
Well, everybuddy, I'm off to have about my fourth nap of the day! Yesterday was a really long and exciting day, so I need to catch up on my nappies!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

Life is great!

Hello to all our furry and not-so-furry friends! It's me, Poppy! Well, everybuddy, Penny and I are going to get our spring Aire-cuts pretty soon. Penny's appointment is on April 6th and mine is on April 7th. We can't wait! Our weather has turned warm and we have had lots of rain, so every time we go outside, we soak up lots of red Georgia clay in our paws and bring it in the house! We don't really have a problem with that, but Mom freaks out every time we come in. Last evening, she REALLY freaked! All 3 of us were out for a very long time and no one could see us from the back door. Finally, Mom walked down to the other end of the deck where she can see the side fence and the neighbor's yard. All 3 of us were huddled together, right in the corner of the yard and we were digging a hole to China! She kept calling us, but being Airedales and intent on what we were doing, we ignored her completely! She was not nearly as amused by that as WE were! To make a long story short...she walked down the steps and all the way to where we were. What she found was a ginormous hole with some little pellets that we were eating. At first, she thought the little pellets were either deer or rabbit poopies, but upon closer inspection, she found out it was little pieces of doggie food. She rushed all 3 of us into the house and found out that all of our beards were dripping with red mud! We had to have our faces and front paws washed with wet paper towels! We don't know how that doggie food got there, but our mom suspects that the neighbor dog threw up and some of it came over on our side of the fence. Now, she has to go fill up the hole so we don't make it any bigger and try to escape into Maggie and Sasha's yard. What a buzz kill!
Patches wants me to tell you all that she still has her blind froggie. Our mom threatened to throw the frog away when we got Rocky the raccoon, but Patches cried so hard that Mom let her keep him. He has no eyes, his red heart has been torn out of one of his paws and he has a gaping hole under one arm. Mom says one more explosion from his arm pit and he's out of here whether Patches likes it or not!

This coming Sunday is the K-9 for the Cure Dog Walk and Patches has been practicing for it. Mostly, she practices by prancing around the house because she thinks she looks beautimous with her new Aire-cut! Our mom is going to register all the pawticipants and Patches will be right by her side, so she's also practicing her bitey-face games.
Yesterday, our mom and Aunt Wendy went to do a home visit for the Airedale Rescue Group and we had to stay home with Dad. They met a very nice family that has a 7 year old Aire-boy. He has lost his pack and he's very lonely, so they want to get him a playmate. Their 5 year old Aire-girl died about a year ago and their almost 15 year old Aire-boy died about 2 weeks ago. Mom says that whatever doggie goes to live with them will be very lucky. They have a 5 acre fenced yard for the Aire-kids to run and play in. We wish we could have met Chips, but at least we got to smell him on Mom. He gave her lots of kisses and smiled at her a lot! He's going to be a great brother for some lucky Aire-pup!
Well, everybuddy, that's about it for today. Right now, we're all headed back outside to see if there's anymore dog food left and maybe make the hole a little deeper. Uh oh! Maybe not...I just heard our mom say she was going to get the shovel and go out there. Bye, bye muddy hole!
Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches

Awards...etc!

Hi everybuddy! It's me, Patches! Some time ago, we were given this Honest Scrap award by our Kerry Blue friends Persephone, Buster and Bailey and also Awfully Big Digsby MacFeegle. Thank you soooo much!

Here are the official Honest Scrap rules:"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Scrap" weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Each of us will do 4...that actually totals 12, but it says AT LEAST 10.

I, Patches will go first:

1. I have finally given up sleeping all over the house, at night. Now, I spend most of my nights in my very own bed!

2. I am a very kissie doggie! I just looooove to give Mom kisses on her face!

3. I would escape everytime I get a chance! It's not that I don't like it, here at Airedale Heaven, I just want to experience the WHOLE world!

4. Recently, I have learned how to carry on a conversation with Mom (and ONLY Mom). She tells me to sit and then she whispers to me. I answer in very soft, quiet woofies.

Ok, now it's Poppy's turn:

1. I love my Mom more than anything! When she goes outside to work in the yard, I cry until she comes back in. (That's if I'm not out there too)

2. My favorite sleeping postion in upside down on my back.

3. Our mom can't go into the bathroom without me. Oh, she THINKS she can, but I am always right there to go with her!

4. My greatest skill is sneaking stuffies outside when no one is looking. Of course, I NEVER bring them back.

Now for Penny's turn:

1. Now that I am 10 years old, I find it undignified to play with stuffies...most of the time. I do, however, use them as pillows.

2. I am Dad's dog! I talk to him all the time. He knows whether I am asking for water, to go outside, or just to be petted.

3. I am the announcer of this house. I announce the mailman, the UPS man and any time one of our neighbors leaves their driveway.

4. It is my opinion that no person, dog, cat or other living being should be able to walk on the street in front of MY house. I let them all know about it too!

There you have it, folks! Honest facts about all 3 P's!

About a week or so ago, Penny received this really cool award from Maggie and Mitch! They gave it to her for her 10th barkday! Thank you sooooo much, M & M!

We don't remember how long ago we got this award, but we do know that it came from Samantha the beautimous Golden Retriever! Thank you so much, Samantha. And thanks for being our friend!
We know that we are supposed to pass these awards on to other bloggers, but since it took our personal secretary soooooo long to post them, we figure most of you have already received them. If you have not and would like one or all of them, please feel free to claim them. We are very sorry we took so long. Our mom has been really busy with the antique booth, selling on Ebay and job hunting! The job hunting part isn't going so well...most places won't even take her application.
That's it for today, everybuddy! I have to go and attack the wand to the vacuum cleaner, now. Mom says the Aire-hair is getting too deep again!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

We have a new playmate!

Hi everybuddy! It's me, Patches! Before I introduce you to our new playmate, I wanted to show you what we got for Penny's 10th barkday. We had some yummy Pumpkin squares from Doggielicious and a big box of bone shaped treats! They were all very tasty! Not quite as tasty as THIS guy, though!
It's Rocky the skwerrel! He's waaaaay bigger than we are! Our mom bought him, at a yard sale, this morning. She said she already got her money's worth when she saw how we attacked him when he first came in the house!

I had him by the head and Poppy had him by the tail and we dragged him into the living room. He's about as easy to move as Pokey was (may he rest in peace)! Heeheehee! Mom had to throw him over to the other side of the living room with the rest of our large stuffies. We tried to drag him there, but we were knocking over end tables and our mom got really nervous when we were shaking him right beside the curio cabinets. I guess she thought we might break the glass!

Rocky is resting, right now, with Mickey, Minnie and the ginormous bear. That's only because we wore ourselves out welcoming him to Airedale Heaven. I plan to perform my secret ritual on him, later today!
I've heard a rumor that I get to go bye-byes in the car, tomorrow, with Mom! We are going down to Aunt Wendy's house and then to a park to have our pictures taken for the K-9 walk for the cure. It takes place on Sunday, March 22, but we are going to have our pictures in the Roswell, Georgia newspaper before that. I'm sooooo excited! I get to go in the Aire-mobile all by myself. Okay, not TOTALLY by myself...Mom will have to drive it!
We have some awards to post, but our mom has been too busy and too sad to do it, so we will get to them in a few days. We hope you all understand!
Note from the 3 P's: When our mom posted this, yesterday, she said Rocky is a skwerrel. Now, we know she has cat-a-rats in both eyes, but come on, Mom! He's got a STRIPED tail! Even WE know that Rocky is really a raccoon! Sorry for our Mom's "senior moment"...or brain fart...or whatever!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

We are soooo VERY sad for Lulu and Bogart!

Hi everybuddy! It's all 3 of us P's today! Our eyes are leaking because Bogart's dad passed away yesterday. We all sent as much Aire-zen, Wiry-zen, healing thoughts and whatever else we could send, but it just wasn't enough! Sometimes, our hooman's bodies just aren't strong enough to absorb all the doggie, kitty and hammie zen that we send to them.

We are so sad that Bogart won't be able to enjoy anymore of the great meals that Klaus made for him or catch anymore sticks that Klaus always threw for him. We are also very sad that Lulu has lost the love of her life. We know that Klaus will be watching over them, now, and he will always live in their hearts. We wish there was something we could do or say that would ease the pain for Lulu and Bogart, but we know that isn't possible. We DO know that every single one of us DWBers will be there to support them whenever they need us.

Sad, sad Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches (and Lana & Stan too)
