We just had visitors!

Greetings to all of our fellow furries and not-so-furries! It's me, Patches! Just a few minutes ago, we had some visitors. Remember our bluebirds from last spring and summer? Well four of them just came for a visit! There were 3 males and one female. Two of the males went into the bluebird house and the female stayed outside and peeked in the hole. Maybe they were looking for a warm place to sleep tonight. (It has rained for 2 days and now it is supposed to get really cold and maybe even snow!) The third male ate a mealworm from the bowl on the table and then went to the seed feeder in the back yard. They stayed around for a little while and then flew away again. We sure hope they come back soon! Mom and Dad are thrilled to know they are still around!
We would like to thank everyone who sent us a Christmas card! As of this morning, we girls have received 54 cards. Our mom and dad have received FOUR! Nanananananana! We are winning! We keep telling them that we are waaaaaaaaay more popular than they are!

Sorry we haven't been around lately. Our mom is baking Christmas cookies and she hasn't had time to help us blog much lately. She already wrapped and mailed all the presents to our relatives in Ohio, so now, she is concentrating on making sure Santa Paws shows up at our house. Usually, at this time of year, she makes like a hundred packages of cookies, but this year, she is making LOTS less! She used to make them for the man she worked for so he could give them to his customers. Now that she is unemployed, they will only be going to our vets, the mailman, maybe a neighbor and of course, Ezzy and Jagger's pawrents. So far, we haven't even had one bite of a cookie, but we keep watching closely and hoping a piece falls our way!
Well, everybuddy, we're going back to watch for the bluebirds some more!
Aire-hugs,
Patches (and Poppy & Penny too)

Where is that global warming they were talking about!
Hope your birds and y'all stay warm!!!!

We're glad your bluebirds are back. They are very pretty. We have them here, but can't figure out where they nest. They don't use our nestboxes. It's a mystery.

your house must smell wonderful! that is so cool your birdies are back, I bet its chilly for them these days. I thought they go south for the winter? It sure seems like every bird in the world is here right now in AZ.

Hope you get a little bit of some cookies. I think that those birds were very happy to have a dry place to stay and some food.

Hey, Girlies!

I hope your bluebird buds find somewhere nice and toasty to spend the cold nights! I bet they LOVE your house.

My girl said that before I was born there was a little finch that neste in the Christmas wreath on her front door (she was just taking down in March or April and noticed the nest). That bird, or one of her little ones, came back every year for 4 years and nested in the wreath on the door ~ which my girl left up until all the birdies flew the coop ~ usually in April or May. They haven't been back since I moved in, though.

Lets hope you get some cookies of your own for Christmas. Sounds like your mama will be a little less busy.

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley
