Two of us are clean!

Hi every buddy! It's me, Poppy! Yesterday, I got the dreaded b-a-t-h! Yeah, I was pretty stinky...at least according to my mom! Now I smell really good, but I have heard a rumor that I am going to be Furminated later today! The indignities just keep piling up!

This morning, Penny had her turn in the bathtub! So, now two out of three of us are clean and smell good. The blond one (aka Patches) will get her turn tomorrow! Heeheehee! This morning, Mom told Penny and Patches that they needed to put their heads together and decide who would get their bath today. Since no one volunteered, Mom grabbed Penny and off they went...into the bathroom!

So, Mom is 2/3 of the way done with our baths, but we still need to have our toenails cut. We won't be going back to that one place since they only cut the tips, but our mom is thinking about taking us to the v-e-t! They do a good job, but it's kind of 'spensive!

We can't begin to tell you all how bad we feel for Deetz's family. His brother Sharkie left suddenly, yesterday, for the Rainbow Bridge. It was a horrible accident and we know it will take them a loooooong time to grieve. You can visit Deetzy at http://www.deetztheairdale.blogspot.com to see what happened. Our mom gets sick to her stomach every time she thinks about it! (Sorry, stoopid blogger won't let us insert a link). It also won't let us see the pictures we posted!

Well, every buddy, I'm on my way to be Furminated and I think Patches is hiding somewhere.

Pupdate: Sat. Jan. 30, 2010: It's me, Patches! I got my dreaded b-a-t-h this morning, so I have joined the ranks of 3 clean Aire-girls! Woohoo! Our mom is really glad we're all clean (for NOW), but her back may never be the same again! It's a good thing she took 3 whole days to give us our baths! She could never have done all 3 of us in one day. Oh, and it only took Mom half as long to catch me as it usually does. I must be slowing down! I was also very good once the door shut behind me in the bathroom. I even jumped in and out of the tub all by myself! Amazing!

Aire-hugs,
Poppy (and Penny & Patches too)

I kept reading Deetz's post over and over hoping that it would end differently, but it never did. It is super sad and shocking.

Hope you three get through the bathing and nail trimming ok.

must be something in the air with the "bath" thing. We have an icestorm, with snow on top of it. Muzzer is wondering if she has time to give us both baths, in case we have to spend the night with friends (because the power goes out, or whatever!)

Does that make sense to you?

not to me

Sharkie's news was just so awful, but it was a terrible accident. The grief must be overwhelming for his humans and we feel badly for Deetzie too, must have been very hard for him as well. But as our Mom told Deetz's mom, she just has to concentrate on the happy memories and with time she will heal.

On a happier note, we bet you will all be clean and smelling sweet - too bad about the nails, we don't like that procedure either.

So sorry to hear about Deetz's brother. I'll pop over to leave a message.

Try giving the hang-dog, puppy eyes look, and maybe that furminating won't take too long.

Yes, that is just the worse news about Sharkie. We are so sad for his family.

Oh dear, and bathtime can be a bit traumatic.(You look good thought!) Daddy was mentioning that we're due soon too. They usually do us around the 1st of the month whether we need it or not! NOw in Phoenix they'll take us to Smelly DOg and their bath tubs are high off the ground so even scarier than the cabins bathtub. Now I'm getting scared. Sheesh

Hi, Poppy!
I'd love to have a bath now! The thing of the nails is something I don't like much either!
I am very sad about Sharkie. Our thoughts are with all his family.
Take care

We to are devastated about poor little Sharkie. Just a horrible horrible accident. We just cant get over the shock.

I have to agree, baths are the pits. We dont have a furminator but we do have a coat king. It really only works for long fur so as we're totally naked we dont have to suffer that for some time.

Hey, our pinkie is the same. She need a big long break between Dale baths and clips. She only ever does two in a day. As she washes and clips nearly the entire Airedale population of our town, she often gets guest Dales to stay overnight so she can split her chores up over two days.
We keep telling her, there is a simple solution for her broken back complaints...DON'T DO IT! Let us Dales be the way God intended. But apparently, it's not an option...

I hate those dog grooming torture baths. Sorry that you had to endure it.

Strangely, I don't mind baths coz it's hot in Malaysia, so a cool bath is refreshing. Plus, I get treats during the "dry" time so it's kind of cool. Your mum must be pleased to have 3 fresh Airedales in the home!

You puppies probably like the bath once you are in the tub and your mom is giving you her full attention and adoration!

When our puppy boy hears the water running in the shower early every morning it doesn't bother him....but, when it runs during the middle of the day he knows that it is his bathtime. He tries to slink low into the floor and be invisible.

Hee hee, sorry to chuckle, but better you than us! :) But you guys always look so good, we don't know why you need baths. :)

Now go get dirty! (Or tear up some towels!)

Oh, me LOVES baths at the place that steals my hair. But they do get kind of personal, you know down there no human should be looking. You both look beautiful all clean and shiny.

Thank you so much for your loving support in our time of shock and sorrow. We hope that Sharkie's tragic accident helps others be aware of the dangers of collars. Deetz misses Sharkie, but his spirits are good because he expects him back each evening and as time goes by, he will heal too.
I am so sorry your momma lost her first airegirl and kitty on the same day 9 years ago, very tragic! Thank you so much for your friendship it means the world.

Well. One week later. We're wondering if you are still clean? Moma remembers that red Georgia soil. (She used to live in Newnan. Did you know that?)

We had baths about two weeks ago, and you'd never know it now. Plus we look like Rocky Mountain Sheep. With dreadlocks. We're guessing some sort of grooming is coming up. Just in time for the snow.

Makes tons of sense, huh?

Love ya, Triple Ps
